Men’s Soccer Preview
CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team travels to Greenville, S.C., on Tuesday, Sept. 16, for a 6:00 p.m. clash with in-state rival Furman.
The Cougars are still chasing their first road win of the year and will look to make a statement against the Paladins. At home, Charleston has impressed with a 2-0 victory over North Carolina and a 1-0 triumph over USC Upstate, building momentum heading into Tuesday’s matchup.
Furman enters the matchup 4-0-3 on the year, led by standout forward Wilfer Bustamante, with four goals this season.
For Charleston, goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher was recently named CAA Defensive Player of the Week, earning his first career conference honor. Schumacher recorded eight saves without conceding a goal in the Cougars’ 1-0-1 week, and his presence in net will be crucial as Charleston faces Furman this week.
