Men’s Soccer Preview

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The College of Charleston men's soccer team travels to Wilmington, N.C., on Saturday, Sept. 20, for a 7:00 p.m. matchup with UNCW.

Charleston is coming off a 1-0 win over Furman on Sept. 17. With under two minutes remaining in the first half, Noah Gold netted his first goal of the season to give the Cougars the decisive edge. In the second half, goalkeeper Jourdan Schumacher anchored the defense with three saves, securing his fourth shutout of the season.

At home, the Cougars have impressed with a 2-0 victory over then-No. 15 North Carolina and a 1-0 triumph over USC Upstate, marking their second top-15 win of the season and building momentum heading into Saturday’s contest.

UNCW enters the matchup 1-2-2 on the year, averaging nearly 19 shots per game while limiting opponents to just 30 total attempts across five matches.
