Friday's meet marks the third of four regular-season meets for the Cougars. The Cougars had eight personal bests at the Covered Bridge Invitational in August for their first meet of the season.
The women will be racing a 6k for the first time this fall. The Cougar women had seven personal bests at the Covered Bridge Invitational in August for their first meet of the season. Savannah Stoutt led the way for Charleston, finishing with a time of 18:20.9. Second to cross the line for the Cougars was Bella Hudson slashing nearly a minute from her previous personal best with a new time of 18:27.6. Cayden Crismon, Abby Mogg, Andie Harding, Aine Trapp, Lauren Resnick, and Katie O'Toole also ran personal best times in Boone, N.C.
Charleston's men race their second 8k of the season Friday in Boone. The men's team also ran at the Chanticleer Challenge, adding six new additions to the 8k top 10 list and a new school record. Declan Byrne broke the school record in the 8k with a time of 24:33.75, helping the men's team to a third-place finish out of nine schools. The women's squad also finished third out of eight teams.
